Why isint Ballet listed as a sport?

ballet classes are just as hard a football, or harder.

Why isint Ballet listed as a sport?concert venue

While it's true that ballet is not a sport, it most definitely is a form of physical education. If you're trying to get your school to grant you phys.ed. credit for ballet, you have an excellent case. Dance provides just as much of a work-out as a sport, plus it instills the same respect for practicing hard and working together as a group.

On the other hand, just because dance involves lots of physical activity, don't try to lower it to the standards of the sports-obsessed mentality of our culture. There is a reason why they say that sports is "just a game," because it's essentially meaningless. When all is said and done, a score only says which side played better at the time, while the arts can communicate about virtually anything that you can imagine and have the ability to relay new meanings for generations of audiences. Ask yourself how often you'd want to see the same game of football played over and over.

There is no competition between teams, and you don't keep score.
because its an art, just like music peformances.
Honey, I was mad about this for a long time. People would ask if you did a sport and most don't considr it a sport. But hon It is 10 times better than a sport. It is just as phyiscally and menatly chaglenging as any sport or even more. Volley ball players can spike a ball but can they get on pointe shoes and dance and make look easy and effortless and beautiful. Even if you are in pain and agony yous still look look beautiful. But in sports you grunt and huff as much as you want. Ballet takes as much streagnth as a sport but is also an art. There are some WACKY people who think foot ball is beautiful. ( so God help them) But ballet is telling a story using your body as the words and pictures. Your body is making beautiful lines but in soccer no one cares if ur foot is not pointed and makes a ugly line. So next time when you dance think of making lines!

Ballet is also decharacterised by all those mice and bear wearing pink frilly costumes. Not many people know how had it is to train for ballet. When most people think of ballet they think of little girls in pink frilly costumes and lacy pointe shoes. But little do they know that real dancers are in sweat stained leatards with grunchy pointeshoes making their bodies to thing they were not meant to do! (of course thay are not in those outfits at a preformance.)

Somebody asked me today if I did any sports today and i said I do ballet. And guess what they said and guess what they said. Oh thats cute. I stabed my pencil on paper e(and broke and the tip) and gave them a look that said what an idiot.

All the training must also be happening. You can just pick up a pair of pointe shoes and dance beautifully if you have never done AND trained in ballet they would look like a DUCK. Not Oddete in Swan Lake.

SO down set dance..... Imean hut!

Feel free to email me idf you have any ?s.

Chow
because people are stupid.

id like them to see the grueling workout we go through every day.

then we can decide what is a sport.

this gets me angry. especially since i compete and dont feel im only doing it as an artform.....
ballet was created as a form of art and expression. ITS NOT A COMPETITION. franchises and mcdance trophy schools have

made it seem like a sport for their own benifit!
Because dancing isn't a sport; it's an art form. Difficulty isn't the only criteria used when determining if an activity is a sport or not.
Because its an art, we dont compete (well were not suppossed to) we perform...i mean ever seen a football player play to music?? Dance shows emotion and feeling baseball doesnt
