What is Ballet really all about?

When it comes down to ballet competitons, what are the judges really looking for?

What is Ballet really all about?imax theater

Line, line, line... making everything look effortless, PERFECT (and I mean perfect) footwork, great extension, joy in performance, power, height in jumps, having that "other worldliness-looking factor".... go on Utube and watch some great ballerinas and you will see what I am talking about. Good Luck to you....

they are looking for TECHNIQUE!!! how well your ballet skills are used during your dance, try to make every thing look effortless and graceful, most judges at competitions like to see traditional ballet steps done.
Technique and confidence.
Facial expressions,

grace,

leg extensions(and arm),

if your together,

if your looking up or at other peoples feet,

technique (if your arms are in a correct 1st, or your pointing your toes etc),

flexability, but this also means that you shouldn't just throw your leg up. You also need to show strength by holding it until the last count.

effort

I hope this helps alittle bit.
Technique, presence,LINE, ( For a company personality, getting along with others )
